Stuff On That

Well, so did I say I can't cook? that chicken that I made before, despite it being so simple, I still managed to mess it up a little. I basically made way too much of the breadcrumb topping, whatever you want to call it, so and I also had some milk and egg mixture leftover, and flour. Soo I just decided to mix it all together, I thought that would be a good idea. And put it in the oven. Well, it didn't rise or anything, but I did realize it was a lot like stuffing, so what I decided to do was mix it with some sausage and make a stuffing casserole. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ginger Snaps Back

So, it was one of my best friend's birthday's this past weekend, which coincided perfectly with my school's fall break! So I went and stayed with him in Boston, and had so much fun, but apparently while having all that fun, it slipped my mind to remember to take my phone with me. So for now I am phone-less, which is actually kind of nice. But suffice to say, just a little inconvenient. In the absence of said phone one of my roommates, Erin, has been very kind in letting me borrow hers, and allowing my friends to text her to reach me (VERY kind). I wanted to do something to pay her back, so I offered to make her gingersnap cookies, because who doesn't love those?

Field of Dreams

Fruits of the Loom

When you don't have time to actually cook something, fresh fruit is always a good out. Not only does everyone love fruit (God's candy) but it's aesthetically appealing as shown above. Fruit salad is nice, you can get fancy and invest in a melon baller (if you are one) or just chop some stuff up and throw it together.

Making Rosemary Garlic Chicken Drumsticks

So, the other night I realized I had some chicken that I bought on an optimistic whim and didn't know what to do with. So I looked up on The Food Network Website easy chicken recipes, and sorted through the many that contained expensive or hard to find ingredients (Mexican style chorizo?) and finally found one for rosemary garlic chicken drumsticks.
The cook time was a little longer than I had initially wanted (55 minutes instead of my original search for 15 or less) but the prep was very quick and then I just had to put it in the oven and try to write a paper that was due the next day at our kitchen table while I watched the timer (on Paradise Lost, that part of this adventure didn't go as smoothly)

Basically, you just combine the flour with salt and pepper in a bowl, put all the pieces of chicken in that, then dip them into an egg and milk mixture, then put in a large ziploc bag, breadcrumbs, rosemary and minced garlic, then shake it around for a little bit. These then go in the refrigerator for like 15 minutes just so it sets, then you put them in the oven. Done. They were really good, and I tricked a few people into thinking that I cook all the time! Also when I called my dad and told him that not only did I do my laundry that week, but I also made chicken from scratch, let's just say "surprised" could accurately describe his response.
